At the end, not follow his squad to cross the river, Gang decides to end his life with a combat knife by that point when he finishes the farewell letter to mom, as he would not want to see any other close one facing death.
In the night when the troop carries on their duty of passing Thach Han river, they are constantly bombarded by the opposing force to prevent their crossing. Thach Han river - the only route that runs along the wall of Quang Tri Citadel, is full of bombs, artillery shells and bloods of sacrificed soldiers. The battle has gone down as one of the fiercest and bloodiest in Vietnam’s long history of independence struggles against foreign invaders. This music video is a puppet animation featuring a lonely man who feels redundant as he reminisces on better days. Alternating between uplifting rhythms and melancholic lyrics, the
character takes us through nostalgic encounters between himself and his friends, dancing and
musing, blurring the lines of reality. The journey becomes increasingly surreal, though culminates
on a hopeful note.
Because Jacob Bellens` song “Everybody Needs Some Loving” references the Backstreet Boys hit “Everybody”, the music video
has elements from the Backstreet Boys video implemented, and gives a nod of acknowledgment to their video too.

Heartbeat (Vienna Shorts 2023 Official Selection) is an ode to (new) life. Inspired by the sound of the violin that revives me. Heartbeat is about moving on and how making music is precious and should be cherished. As a disabled artist I have firsthand knowledge of the fragility of life. As a female artist, I intuitively express the themes of womanhood, the experience of womanhood, birth and the creation of life in this film. I value making music and elevating life from the grey nothingness and pain. My creative process has always been driven by colors, forms and images. Inspired by my classical roots with Heartbeat I feel that I’ve managed to consolidate and interlace the audiovisual aspects of my work for the first time. This animated 2d film was created using mixed digital methods. I feel my narratives have finally merged into a complete story.

June - July 2023 Programme
A youth's life falls into chaos following the breaking of his beloved lighter: his lover leaves him and he loses his job. The youth desperately seeks for a way to fix his lighter as a way to mend his ruined life, but in the process ends up losing the lighter itself. He tells his troubles to a foreign child, yet the child only wonders whether or not a certain bird in the sky is named Alice. One speaks English and the other Chinese, and the two end up speaking for quite some time despite not being able to understand each other.
When the youth finally sees his lighter again, he already has a newly born child, yet seeing the lighter in the hands of a stranger causes the youth to take desperate action ...
This is a film that explores the relationship between modern people and objects. When people create objects (commodities), they also become slaves of the objects, and even alienate themselves into the objects themselves-the plot where the heroine plays the model in the window accurately interprets this idea. And the actor finally disappeared in the chase of the items ...
So this movie is also a parable about the city.

An art professor and her students apprentice with Kam minority artisans deep in the mountains of southwest China to learn early papermaking technology. The Kam have lived secluded from the rest of the world for centuries. Their papermaking tradition can be traced directly to the Chinese official Cai Lun, who is credited with inventing paper over 2000 years ago. Kam artisans adopted his technique after the addition of mulberry bark to the pulp mixture but before he invented the dipping method of forming paper. Their current practice takes us back two millennia the way no archaeological discovery can.
