A SHOT FOR FREEDOM
October-November 2021 Programme
In war-torn Normandy, a chaplain’s obsession brings him face to face with the enemy.
1944. Crows scatter within a war-torn Normandy village as armour rumbles in. All halting, weary British troops dismount.
A Jeep squeals to a halt. Checking his notebook, the Padre scans wearily around. Dismounting, he administers to his war-ravaged flock.
Distant battle rages as black smoke plumes on the horizon. As tanks race away to engage the enemy, the Padre follows in his Jeep.
Carnage awaits him as he feeds his obsession, to bury the fallen himself, so as their burnt and mutilated bodies are never seen by the rest of his flock.
As he performs his grim task, bullets ping around him. Raising submissive hands, he falls captive to the dreaded SS Panzergrenadiers.
Trapped as battle rages around him, the Padre does the only thing left for him to do. Make the tea. As fighting lulls, and tea is served, he bonds with the Grenadiers over German chocolate.
The order to retreat arrives. As the Grenadiers pull back, the Padre asks for one last thing. Their help in burying his dead flock. As they do, allied air-attacks roar in.
As the Grenadiers die in a hail of bombs, the Padre is forced to comfort his dying enemy in their last, desperate moments.
Broken and shell-shocked, the Padre staggers away. As British troops arrive, his flock come around to administer the loving care to him, that he has so selflessly shown to them.

Of young men barely older than them who, after 4 years of occupation, freed them from occupation German in the Juno Beach area. A bunch of sand of ten kilometers stretching from Courseulles in Saint-Aubin-sur-mer.

The Donbass children
October-November 2021 Programme
Manu Dibango is eighty years old.
Smiling like a kid, he blows out his birthday cake candles, followed by applause. An hour and half later, he is eighty-five years old. Between these two milestone birthdays, the film directors followed in the day to day footsteps of this smiling, debonair giant; for whom the expression, "quiet strength" seems to have been coined. Composer, musician, journalist, an ambassador of the Francophone world, honoured and distinguished around the world; Manu Dibango has remained himself wherever he may find himself. To the greats of this world, he speaks without flattery, and addresses the lowly with respect, without any condescension. During these five years, from Paris to Douala, from Kinshasa to Rio, from New York to Saint Calais, a small village in La Sarthe where he spent part of his childhood, a curious, open, joyful, honest and caring Manu Dibango crossed fellow brethren.
"A dream bigger than him"
He sometimes evokes the past, but with no place for regret or nostalgia. Manu Dibango is a man of the present, a man in motion, who has a dream greater than himself: to be a bridge between cultures, between generations, between continents. His multiple roots tell the story of his vision of the world, that of mixing, of horizons that cross and enrich each other, of cultures that marry to give birth to a more generous, more human world. He can be both warm and modest. To testify, there are those who love him and surround him, those who have met him and who will never forget him. From Yannick Noah - who calls him Uncle Manu - to Charlélie Couture and Ray Léma, their testimonies reveal the multiple facets of this art lover with a great A. The art he says is all that remains after man: "After all, who remembers who was a minister in Beethoven's time? No one. What's left is Beethoven's work! »

"Behind every note is Africa"

Manu Dibango is a man in a hurry who knows how to take his time. The film is in his image, giving way to long musical tracks, rehearsals, concerts, improvisations, moments of sharing with fellow artists in music, moments of grace where the unique voice of his swinging saxophone flies, swings, sways, exults or murmurs like a confidence.
His love of mixing is also expressed in his practice: this adventurer of music continues to clear unexplored spaces. He is now working to combine his music with that of a symphony orchestra, helping to bring together two worlds that have always been ignored.
Again and again, this unceasing quest for sharing, for sharing the world's cultural treasures, because once and for all, "we must stop being alone together"...

« GARDEN PARTY is part of DFC dance for camera project, started in 1998 by french choreographer and film maker Didier Mulleras. The idea for this film was born during a visit to the botanical garden in Rio de Janeiro. There was a woman, alone, sitting on a bench, who kept getting up, going around the bench as if she was looking for something, and then sitting down again. She did this without interruption, in cyclical iterations, sometimes punctuated by long pauses, during which she turned her head, right and left, seeming to talk to people sitting next to her. But there was no one there. Her movements, a mixture of nervous gestures followed by almost perfect stasis, were reminiscent of the very particular gestures of the actress Gena Rowlands in the film "A Woman Under the Influence" by John Cassavetes. This inspired the choreography and movement direction of the dancers in this film. Parks and gardens are the immobile witnesses of our lives, of our desires, of our thoughts. Flowers look at us, listen to us, accompany us, like calm and discreet spectators of our inner adventures. »

For Love of the Land
October-November 2021 Programme
LOGLINE: An ambitious Asian adopted mother attempts to balance her rising pre-pregnancy theatre career and raising a toddler. However, she continuously compares his youth to hers, which invites eager ghosts that torment her.
Riss Goodwin is mother, wife, and a reinvented actress who resumes her dreams to get to Hollywood and become a famous actress. She is therefore excited to audition for Medea the Musical in Chinatown, an avant garde iteration with music. However with in-laws coming in five hours with a two hour audition process, counting traffic, she is severely pressed for time.
As she jumps into her work she hears “the wheels on the bus go round and round” and her world alters and she grows younger and younger. In this undesired memory, Riss becomes the child version of herself, Rachel. Rachel and her brother Sang Duk were paid off to be owned by an orphanage. The children screamed for their father and the musicality of the screams push Riss back to reality she is surreal. Her eyes land on on the “wheels on the bus.” Riss fiercely turns the program off. She knows she must stay on task.
She looks around the house and grows sick by the mess a toddler can create. But with love for both her husband and son, she does her best to tidy up. Once she enters into Hosu’s (meaning lake in Korean) playroom, she grows envious by the abundance of his toys, books, and play items. She locates a book given to her at her baby shower, titled: BiBimBop - a Korean rice dish and takes a moment to read. She wants to wean away her ghosts.
However as she moves through the pages, she is jerked inside another memory. This time a ghastly series of events leave her naked with black and blue eyes. She is crying and in severe pain. Riss remembers this moment vividly. A friendly outcast brings Rachel clothes and carries her out.
We see Rachel shortly afterwards, staring in a mirror looking at herself in a ripped, tattered and stained yellow dress. She utters yellow dress, growing happier with each utterance. She smiles. Rachel sees herself for the very first time.

Behind every meeting in Japan, there is an underbelly of “unspoken agreements.”
About an hour by car from Tokyo, there is a little town called Kiryu. Our hero, a man who once made advertisements for a living, is hired by Kiryu for the skills a man of his background possesses. “Will you come up with a plan to revive the town?” The man conducts a local investigation, identifies problem points, and comes up with a solution. A plan is constructed, and at last it is the day of the first tentative plan presentation. In the Japanese business world, the fact is that success or failure in a presentation is often determined ahead of time, by “laying the necessary groundwork.” Despite a meeting’s importance, often the actual decision-makers themselves are not in attendance. When matters outside the limited scope of the story come up, meetings often end with “we’ll have to sleep on it and reconsider.” Generally in Japanese business, decision-making is avoided at the actual meeting. Is it possible for our man to weather the storm of this risk-averse Japanese presentation culture and achieve success?

This brings more trouble for all of them. The movie was made in the year 1999 without asking permission from the authorities of Iran, therefore, it couldn't obtain permission for public screening. Afterwards, Hamid Tamjidi, the producer/director of the movie gave up film making in Iran and moved to Canada. In the year 2019, the producer accidentally found a 35 mm subtitled copy of the movie and had it repaired and re-edited. He is still hoping to have a complete copy of the original negative.

Riuscirà a salvare capra e cavoli? Ad ogni modo Alex è sicuro di una cosa: tali giornate, saranno quelle decisive per tutta la sua futura esistenza.

The poetic relationship, between the ancient ritual of Zenerù and the life of the hermit shepherd Flaminio, makes us reflect on the border between domestic and wild, between known and unknown.
At the end of the winter, Flaminio, a resistant shepherd, prepares materially and spiritually for the arrival of the spring through daily rituals, using the tools he built for himself: he moves and sows the ground, shears the sheep and makes a woolen suit for the new season. The communities of the valley chase the winter away with cowbells and bonfires through the ritual of Scasada dol Zenerù, which is inserted into the story of the shepherd’s life as a dreamlike element that draws on an ancestral memory. Flaminio’s sensitivity, strongly connected to Nature, allows him to perceive when it is time to call the community to act, starting the ritual.

private life and it’s consequences. Psychological pressure, bullying and other threats are also part of today’s world. It is a poetic exploration of all these issues and
inspired by some of them and of course inspired by the wonderful cast and looks.

The video clip for Igor Evard's classic crossover "Time" closes the triad of clips for classic crossovers included in the debut EP “Rainbow Bridge”. The work is written on the words of the poet and linguist Anton Brezhestovsky. The vocal part was performed by the soloist of the New Opera and the art project "Tenor of the XXI Century" Sergey Pisarev. In semantic terms, the video clip "Time" can be considered a continuation of the music video "Starlight". The plot of this dilogy is looped, the rondo technique is used. The main idea of the new video is that if you help the world, then it helps you in return. You can watch "Time" by reviewing the previous video for the "Starlight" crossover, or go back to "Starlight" after. We invite you to admire again the brilliant acting of Agatha Nigrovskaya and Igor Evard himself, the beauty of nature in the frame and the accuracy of the angles. The creators of this video set themselves an ambitious goal - to explain one of the greatest mysteries of the universe and inspire viewers with a touching story of its salvation by man. Whether it turned out to realize this idea is up to you!

In many religions there is an entity that sits as the antithesis of God whose role is often to oppose God and God’s people. In Islam that entity is Iblis. In Judaism and Christianity that entity is the devil or Satan. The Bible goes into much detail about the many ways and the lengths that the devil has perpetrated to oppose God and human beings living in this world.
Using his forty years as a Christian and more than thirty years as a church pastor, Rev. Dr. Thomas Smith, Sr. provides a detailed framework to help a student of the Bible to understand how the devil works to deceive, to trick, and trap people in his attempt to destroy people in the earth. In these eleven chapters he looks at various passages of scripture that deal with many of the major issues involving the workings of Satan.
This book is a detailed guide to understanding the workings of Satan and instructions about how we can overcome his evil plans, plots, and traps to gain the victory as a Christian.

The Predator's Trap
October-November 2021 Programme
Like a trail of gunpowder, everything is set ablaze by passions
Although love wants to reign, it is devoured by hell, it is put to a hard test by and destiny
Beyond Limbo is a continuous dialogue between the hereafter and the hereafter. Death that does not end to die and life that suffers and suffers, to infinite extremes, in order to fulfil its dreams.
Marina, all heart, Russian, divorced, with a little girl to bring up, sees how her love evaporates in her native country. Sergio, with a truculent life, with connections to the most ruthless mafia, makes her fall in love, but without him fall in love. Marina's struggle, against all sorts of labyrinths - doubts, envy, jealousy and disillusionment, is the great driving force of our story.
Her steps to survive, takes her to Barcelona and Madrid, where, in time, the magic chess of love and heartbreak, where over time, offers her a new opportunity.
But our intense story runs, in parallel, in limbo, where tormented souls tangle and untangle, in what they left behind unfinished on Earth. Who is good, where is the evil? The viewers will be continually surprised by the plot, which will turn life here and in limbo upside down.
In limbo will also be Elizabeth, Jorge's partner, who will meet Marina in Madrid. The struggle between evil and love, the fight between souls to find peace in the final hour of eternity, will lead us through an astonishing series of paranormal effects, that will continually threaten and shake Marina's life and the lives of all those who share her footsteps.
Who is really dead? Who thinks they are alive and survives? Who thinks they are alive and survives in the prison of invisible beings? What if goodness also caused destruction? What if wickedness also knew how to soften? Our history will always keep many questions open.
The secondary characters will not be pure comparsas; They will become key elements for the Abracadabra of this mischievous and merciless destiny. It is an action story, with almost no respite in the rhythm, where, murders, deaths that are and are not, traps, deceits, mistreatment, will show us the most abrupt face of reality. We will see how hard it is to emigrate, to make our way in a strange land, fighting without selling out to the highest bidder. It is the Odyssey of the brave Marina.
A la Luna de los amores imposibles, we won't know if our protagonists will find a place in the universe of the most intense passions, of fulfilled desires. Magic and forcefulness of life, in Beyond Limbo.

Award-winning documentary filmmaker Carl Eneroth (“All the Way”) presents Sthlm Social Innovation Lab’s documentary THE CHILD MURDERESS OF VESENE, transporting us to unsettling locations of a small country village in Sweden 1929 where Ingeborg drowned her own three children in a washtub at the age of twenty-seven. We revisit the murder scene, the courthouse where Ingeborg was sentenced, and the cemetery where Ingeborg's children lie. It is a story about a murderess, but also about the humanity Ingeborg’s relatives showed when handling the taboo that followed in a time when mental illness had few cures other than discipline, hard work and praying for forgiveness. After having done the unthinkable, is there a way back for Ingeborg to a normal life? Will her husband, the love of her life, take her back?
The documentary is based on a book "It came to me in a whim" by Maria Bouroncle who, through extensive research, has strived to shed light on what led up to this tragedy involving her great-aunt that had been a tightly guarded family secret for over seventy years.
The film has been screened extensively in Sweden as part of Maria Bouroncle's book tour. Further screenings in San Fransisco at UCLA and US Berkley has been postponed due to the Covid pandemic.
QUOTE:
"Maria Bouroncle takes us deep into a story of real-life murder to show us the humanity - even love - behind the crime. A riveting read - haunting, atmospheric, and ultimately, heart-breaking."

THE FINAL CODE
October-November 2021 Programme
Ben, a college student in the midst of flunking out of film school, comes up with an idea that can’t fail….or can it? Meet Boris, a world-famous Russian film director. “Boris is big star in his home country and has won American award” (he has a fake Oscar statue). Ben decides to take Boris out for a spin and hires some fake paparazzi in order to eat for free in a five-star restaurant. When this shockingly works his mind races with all the situations he could take advantage of, even maybe salvaging film school. Ben’s best friend, Ken, decides to go along for the ride at first but has serious objections when Ben decides to take it further past the restaurant event.
Deciding to do what very few film students can ever accomplish, he sets out to make his own feature film with the help of Boris. After getting thrown out of every major studio in town, he finds himself being let into Galaxy Studios and having a face to face meeting with CEO Hig E. Wiggins. Suddenly, with no time to prepare, Boris is in Las Vegas at the helm of a major motion picture and quickly finds himself in way over his head.
The cast of characters Ben meets include the Three Suits (studio execs), The Gay Mafia guys (in pink), Linda his personal assistant, a famous actor and actress (Miss Marlow), Linda’s daughter (Princess) who wants to be a star and her mother who is supposed to be babysitting her, and a host of other film set types. Oh, and then there is Elvis.
When Ken shows up and blows his cover, Ben must decide what his priorities are and what kind of man he is. After he quits the film, he finds himself the subject of a cross-town pursuit by all the characters above who are trying to get him back on set to finish the film. Linda and Ken did a quickie marriage by Elvis but she realizes she loves Ben and they have to find Elvis to destroy the paperwork before he sends it in.
At the church, papers destroyed, everyone realizes the game is over and all face a new reality (some happier than others). In the end love wins.

Based on the romantic photonovela "Singing to Love” (Amazon / books) this musical was born. As in silent movies, a narrator has been incorporated who sings the love story with the help of romantic images. His songs and dances reinforce the story. Altogether it is a beautiful entertainment for the senses where the spectator can interact singing in Spanish / English.

Beyond the Mirror Rim
October-November 2021 Programme
It is a triangle love-story. Buddha comes to a resort of his college-friend Simon along with his wife and daughter, Gunjan and Mistu respectively. Buddha's indifference to her leads Gunjan to fall in love with a local violin-teacher, Raja. But Buddha also feels attracted to Raja. Raja responds to both of them. These very complex relationships end with a sudden discovery that throws a question whether love and passion can be only heterosexual.
